The ThermaFY team works remotely across Scotland with an office based in Kelso in the Scottish Borders. We offer a remote working environment, enabling people to live outside of the Central Belt. This reduces commuting time and costs, which of course helps the environment, but also enables employees to live in more affordable locations with better work/life balance.

About ThermaFY
All objects emit heat as thermal radiation. This radiation is invisible unless imaged with a thermal camera.
Capturing thermal data with a thermal camera has proven to be extremely beneficial across all industries. It can identify inefficient energy loss, locate electrical faults and help diagnose medical conditions.
Founder and CEO of ThermaFY, Amanda Pickford, noticed an opportunity to promote thermal imaging cameras that plug into your smartphone. The small and affordable cameras made thermal imaging obtainable for individuals and small businesses for the first time.
While selling the cameras, she identified an issue around the interpretation of thermal images. She spotted an opportunity to develop software that uses machine learning and image analysis to unlock meaningful data and solve problems easier with thermal.
The ThermaFY team went on to develop technology with the structure of :
-
- SEE – See thermal data through your smartphone for the first time.
- MEASURE – Calculate useful metrics through image and data processing. e.g. forehead temperature detection, radiator flow.
- REPORT – Visual reports to display results in an understandable format for the customer.
The ThermaFY team is proudly part of Microsoft’s AI for Earth program and in 2020, ThermaFY joined the climate accelerator from RBS.
